Target Audience

This course is for movement disorder specialists, neurologists, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with a movement or related disorder.


Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Differentiate Parkinson's disease from other parkinsonian syndromes
  • Recognize the clinical presentation, diagnostic criteria, and neuroimaging findings
  • Develop a patient-centered management approach for Parkinson's disease
  • Appraise pharmacotherapy options for PD symptoms
  • Develop an initial plan of care and initiate pharmacotherapy as appropriate
  • Use appropriate medications based on patient presentation and targeted symptoms
